Unique and Special Plan Features

24/7 Customer Service

Insured Nomads provides round-the-clock emergency assistance through dedicated contact numbers for EU and USA. Medical professionals are available to answer questions and provide guidance when needed.

Prepaid payment card provided by the insurer

The Insured Nomads card allows direct payment to healthcare providers without paying out-of-pocket. Members can request funds to be loaded onto the card through the mobile app or by contacting the plan administrator.

Mobile App

Two mobile applications are provided – “My Insured Nomads – Health” for policy administration and “INC by Insured Nomads” for accessing non-insured benefits.

Medical Case Management Service

The plan includes comprehensive medical evacuation and repatriation services managed by Falck Global Assistance. Their team coordinates with local medical providers to ensure appropriate care and transportation if needed.

Other unique features

The plan offers local hospitalization assistance, covering expenses for a family member to visit if hospitalized for more than 8 days. Early return assistance is provided for family emergencies, and coverage for child home nursing following inpatient treatment is available with some plans.

Plan Rules

Minimum and Maximum Acceptance Age

The Primary Member must be at least 18 years old to apply, and all covered persons must be under age 65 upon joining the plan.

Plan is for individuals who live away from their home country for how long

The Connect plans are designed for individuals residing outside their home country for extended periods, with no specific minimum duration specified. This makes it suitable for long-term expatriates, digital nomads, and global citizens.

Geographic Zones of Coverage

Coverage is provided based on the zone selected and specified on your Membership Certificate. Members can change their zone of coverage by notifying the Plan Administrator one month in advance.

Coverage in my home country

While focused on international coverage, emergency treatment outside your zone of coverage (which may include your home country) is provided for trips up to 42 days.

Minimum duration of policy

The policy is an annual contract with a 12-month duration, which can be renewed.

Plan cancellation policy

You have a 14-day cooling-off period after receiving your Membership Certificate to cancel without charge. After this period, you can cancel with written notice, and premiums will be refunded on a pro-rata basis if no claims have been submitted.

Can they exclude my new health conditions at renewal time?

The policy documents do not explicitly address whether new health conditions can be excluded at renewal time, but as a comprehensive international health plan, it typically would not exclude newly developed conditions.

The Claim Process

When do I need to pre-approve medical expenses, and when I don’t

Prior notification is required for hospitalization, hospice care, transplants, and pregnancy (within the first three months). You should notify the Plan Administrator at least 72 hours before any covered hospitalization. In emergencies, notification should be given within 48 hours of hospitalization. Failure to provide prior notification may result in reduced coverage (80% for inpatient and 50% for outpatient expenses).

Deductible and Cost-Share Options

The plan offers deductible options of $0, $500, $1,000, $3,000, or $5,000. Outpatient copay options include $0, $10, $20, or $30. Payment frequency affects premium with loadings of 0% for annual, 3% for semi-annual, 4% for quarterly, and 5% for monthly payments.
